A holiday is a pause, a rest, and time to recharge. A holiday is a time to get away from your day to day life, away from work, from stress. Sure, you can simple take time off work or you can find new hobbies, but to get away completely is much more refreshing. It opens you up to new perspectives, relaxes you so you’re more chilled out, and when you come back you feel more awake and alive, more appreciative.
Going on holiday can also be inspiring. Maybe you stumbled across something on your way that made you want to learn more about it, or to try your hand at it, like an exotic art or music, a new sport, a wilderness or scenery that struck a cord, or simply something that made you stop and give pause.
A holiday can be a great thing.
As regards the festive and public holidays, most of them are honoring and remembering, even though sometimes the exact origins have been forgotten, yet the traditions remains. I’d say the sole purpose of holidays is bringing lots of people together and uniting them in a sole cause. The people are usually scattered far and wide in groups of dozens, of tens and of thousands, and yet they are all as one group in their honoring, their celebrations, remembering and reveling.
It is said the more voices that join, the more powerful the message. During a holiday, you can give your voice, knowing that at the same time many others are doing so as well.
