Which is an equation in point-slope form of the line that passes through the points

(4, 5) and (-3, -1)?

v+1=f(x +31

y-1= $(x-3)

Answer:

y + 1 = 6/7 ( x + 3)

Explanation:

We are provided with Two points ( 4 ,5 ) ( -3 , -1)

First, find the slope

m = (y_2 - y_1 )/( x_2 - x_1)

x_1 = 4

y_1 = 5

x_2 = -3

y_2 = -1

Inserting to get the value of m

m = ( -1 - 5) / ( -3 - 4)

m = -6 / -7

- cancels -

m = 6/7

Since we are asked to give the answer in point slope form

y -y_1 = m ( x - x _1)

Using ( -3 , -1)

As x_1 = -3

y_2 = -1

m = 6/7

y - (-1) = 6/7 ( x -(-3))

y + 1 = 6/7 ( x + 3)

Leaving it in a point slope form
