Explanation:

The sequence begins at -4 and we need the 10th term.

By finding the sum between any 2 sequential values we find the change to be 3 from one value to the next.

Knowing the change per value is 3 and that 4 values are already shown we simply add 3 to 5 and then 3 to every value after 5 six more times.

6 x 3, or the total change in the unknown part of the sequence is 18, and 18+5 is 23

An equation that could be used for this would be 9(x)-4.

The reasoning for this is due to our starting value being -4, and that we are only increasing 9 times to get to the tenth term.

9(3)-4= 23
