The number gets multiplied by 10.

If you have a number written as

a* 10^k,\quad a \in\mathbb{R},\quad k\in\mathbb{Z}

If you multiply this number by 10 you get

a* 10^k* 10 = a*(10^k* 10)=a* 10^(k+1)
