There are two different ways to find surface area of square pyramid

1st

  • If you are given the slant height and the side length


\sf surface \ area \ = \ a^2 + 2(a)(l)

  • a = side length
  • l = slant height

2nd

  • If you are given the height and the side length


\sf surface \ area = a^2+2a\sqrt{(a^2)/(4)+h^2 }

  • a = side length
  • h = height
