First lets look at answer A.

This represents the movement on the x axis. Typically the operation done to the x ,in the equation, is opposite on a graph. This is because if you were to set it to 0, it would come out to be the opposite.

For example, take the x + 4. Set it to 0. (x + 4 = 0) This would turn out to be x = -4. Hence why you do the opposite of what the equation says. Ultimately, this means that the x coordinate will move 4 units to the left.

Now lets look at answer D.

This represents the movement on the y axis. Take a look at the last number of the equation. That represents the number of units the y coordinate will move, in this case its 1. Then look at the sign before it. This represents the direction in which it will move. In this case, since it is a negative sign, that means it will move down. This ultimately means the y coordinate will move 1 unit down.

The answers are B and C because anything in parentheses has to do with vertical change, while outside of the parentheses is horizontal
