James time: 2/3

Gilberts time: 11/12

Matthews time: 5/6

simons time: 7/12

Find the difference between the fastest boy's time and the slowest boy's time (40 POINTS!!!)

First thing you do is make all the denominators the same, these can all be multiplied up to 12.

8/12 11/12 10/12 7/12

Next thing you gotta do is find the fastest and slowest, ( the names don't matter because we are not identifying the fastest and slowest, only the difference ) 11/12 and 4/12

Last, we needa subtract these two to get our answer.

11/12 - 7/12 = 4/12 or 1/3

You make all the denominators to 12.

That makes Gilbert the fastest and Simon the slowest.
