Jim is painting the inside of a circular helicopter pad. How many cans of paint would he need if the pad is 50 feet across and each can of paint covers about 200 ft squared

if the pad is 50 feet across that is the diameter of the circular pad is 50 feet.

therefore to get the cans of paints needed we need to first find the area of the circular pad which is :

area of a circle = π
r^(2)

diameter = 50, radius = 50 / 2 = 25

area = 22/7 *
25^(2) = 1964.29 ft squared

where each paint covers 200ft squared

therefore to get the number of paints needed we will divide

1964.29 / 200 = 9.82 ≅ 10
