This is the only answer that grammar and punctuation are correct.

Answer B "children was seen" this would be correct if it was "children were seen"

Answer C the whole sentence just doesn't make sense.

Answer D "the group of children" this is unspecific so for this to be correct they would have to tell us about the group before this sentence.
