The cost of a hot dog = $1.5 and cost of each chips pack = $0.75

Explanation:

Given,

2 hot dogs + a chips cost = $3.75

3 hot dogs + 2 chips pack cost = $6.00

To find, the cost of each hot dog and each packet of chips

Let us take,

Cost of a hot dog = x

Cost of each chips pack = y

According to the problem,

2x+y = 3.75 ------ eq 1

3x+2y = 6 ------- eq 2

4x + 2y = 7.5 [ multipling eq1 by 2] ----eq3

Now, subtracting eq2 from eq3 we get,

(4x+2y)-(3x+2y) = 7.5 - 6

or, x = 1.5

Putting the value of x = 1.5 in eq 1 we get,

y = 3.75 - 3 = 0.75

Hence, cost of a hot dog = $1.5 and

Cost of each chips pack = $0.75
