Answer:

Trench warfare was a type of tactic that was mainly used during WW1 where soldiers would dig into the ground and create defensive positions to hold off the enemies. There were many problems with trench warfare. Some problems include diseases like Trench foot which many soldiers got from having their feet in water for too long. Other problems were the terrible conditions of trenches. Trenches were home to rats and other pest that could spread diseases throughout trench systems. Blood, water, filth, and waste was everywhere in trenches and led to terrible conditions in trenches. Trenches were cramped so diseases could spread fast throughout trench systems and infect hundreds of soldiers. Another problem with trenches is that they were heavy defensive positions so soldiers inside had very limited movement and because both sides used trenches neither side would win causing stalemates. Weaponry was also a factor in trench warfare as it was very dangerous to be in a trench because of artillery that would blow people to bits and snipers that would take out any man that poked their head up a little to high. Trench warfare was a long and hard battle to win because it could take weeks just to advance only a few inches and infantry attacks were extremely ineffective against heavy trench defenses.

Here is a drawing I made of what a trench layout would look like during WW1:

Step-by-step explanation:

Diseases such as trench fever (an infection caused by louse faeces), trench nephritis (an inflammation of the kidneys), and trench foot. On the Western Front, the war was fought by soldiers in trenches. Trenches were long, narrow ditches dug into the ground where soldiers lived. They were very muddy, uncomfortable and the toilets overflowed. These conditions caused some soldiers to develop medical problems such as trench foot.
