Option B:

Sum of
√(-2) and
√(-18) is
4√(2)i.

Solution:

Given data:

√(-2) and
√(-18)

To find the sum of
√(-2) and
√(-18).

Sum of
√(-2) and
√(-18)

=√(-2) +√(-18)

=√(-2) +√(-2* 9)

=√(-2) +√(-2* 3^2)

=√(-2) +3√(-2)

=√(-1* 2) +3√(-1*2)

The value of
√(-1) =i.

=√(2)i +3√(2)i

=4√(2)i (add the coefficient of √2i, i.e. (3 + 1 = 4))

Sum of
√(-2) and
√(-18) is
4√(2)i.
