We basically would need to find the volume of the box given the dimensions:

17 1/2

4.8

8 1/20

Cubic volume is gotten by multiplying the 3 individual dimensions. So we simply multiply the 3.

Lets multiply the two fractions first:


17(1)/(2)*8(1)/(20)=(35)/(2)*(161)/(10)=(1127)/(4)=281(3)/(4)

Then we multiply this result with 4.8

4.8 turned into fraction would be:

4 8/10

4 4/5

Now multiplication and volume:


281(3)/(4)*4(4)/(5)=1352.4

The volume (in decimal) is 1352.4
