To go from store A to store B a person would have to walk south 6 city blocks.

Explanation:

Step 1:

Store A is at (-2, 3) and store B is at (-2, -3). The shortest way to go from store A to store B is a straight line drawn from A to B.

So the only direction a person needs to go from store A to store B is south (down).

Step 2:

Now we need to calculate how long they have to walk to get from store A to store B.

To find the distance between two points on a graph, we use

d=\sqrt{\left(x_(2)-x_(1)\right)^(2)+\left(y_(2)-y_(1)\right)^(2)}, here (-2, 3) is (
x_(1),y_(1)) and (-2, -3) is (
x_(2),y_(2)).

d=\sqrt{\left(-2-(-2))^(2)+\left(-3-3)^(2)}
=√(0+36) = 6.

So a person would have to walk south store A for 6 city blocks to get to store B.
