David and Jake are making cookies. They each get 2 rolls of cookie dough and they are cutting up their rolls with cookie cutters before David's mother places the cookies in the oven. David's cookie cutter cuts 1 roll into 1 8 18 segments and Jake's cookie cutter cuts 1 roll of dough into 1 7 17 segments. Who will have the most cookies, and how many more cookies will that person have?

Answer:

Actually that is wrong. I have just did this assessment and found that David will have more cookies and he will have 1 more cookie than jake.

And for anyone who likes to give bad answers just for points its wrong.

Im not saying The Expert is doing that, im just letting people know.

Answer:

David will have the most cookies and he will have two cookies more than Jake

Explanation:

1. Let's calculate how many cookies will David cut with his cutter, this way:

Number of cookies = Rolls of cookie dough/Size of the segment

Replacing with the values we know:

Number of cookies = 2/(1/8)

Number of cookies = 16

2. Let's calculate how many cookies will Jake cut with his cutter, this way:

Number of cookies = Rolls of cookie dough/Size of the segment

Replacing with the values we know:

Number of cookies = 2/(1/7)

Number of cookies = 14

David will have the most cookies and he will have two cookies more than Jake.
