Vaccine fr Polio prevents "Poliomyelitis"
Step-by-step explanation:
Polio vaccines are vaccines used to prevent poliomyelitis (polio).
Poliomyelitis is a highly communicable disease — it gets transmitted quickly from one person to another. Most people who get polio don’t have any severe problems. But in some cases, polio can be very serious and commence to permanent disabilities — and even mortality.
Two types are applied
- An inactivated poliovirus is provided by vaccination (IPV) and a weakened poliovirus provided by mouth (OPV). Oral polio vaccines produce three characters of vaccine-related paralytic poliomyelitis per million shots dispensed.
- IVP generates antibodies in the blood to all three types of poliovirus. In the case of infection, these antibodies inhibit the expanse of the virus to the CNS and defend against paralysis.
