$(1)/(2)-(1)/(4)=(1)/(4)

Solution:

Given expression:

$(1)/(2)-(1)/(4)

To solve this expression:

$(1)/(2)-(1)/(4)

If you subtract the fractions, then the denominator of the terms must be same.

Let us convert the denominators as same.

LCM of 2 and 4 = 4

So, make the denominators as 4.

Now, multiply the 1st term by
(2)/(2), we get

$(1)/(2)*(2)/(2)=(2)/(4)

2nd term have already denominator 4.

$(1)/(2)-(1)/(4)=(2)/(4)-(1)/(4)

$=(2-1)/(4)

$=(1)/(4)

$(1)/(2)-(1)/(4)=(1)/(4)
