Many of the Founding Fathers were cannabis farmers, but by 1937 every state in the United States had outlawed marijuana use. Today, more states have legalized marijuana for medical and/or recreational use. What does this illustrate about deviance?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

This example shows that what is considered to be deviant at one point in time doesn't have to stay that way and that it all changes according to cultural values of the moment.

As society changes, many of its values, ideals, and norms change. With that, the definition of deviant and antisocial behavior changes as well. Some behavior is considered normal at one point in time, while abnormal and deviant in the other.

That shows how deviance is not the given and objective constant, but something that is dependent on the social values in time and culture.
