D: Active in trade with others.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Kingdom of Ghana was a kingdom in northwestern part of Western Africa. It had an excellent strategic location, as it was located right between the other West African kingdoms and empires in Northern Africa. This was hugely important because the majority of the trading routes were going through Ghana.

Because Ghana was in the center of the trade between the two regions it was very active in trading. This resulted in accumulation of lot of wealth from the trade, as it was not just the trading goods that Ghana was obtaining wealth from, but also taxes imposed on the trading goods that were passing through its territory.
