The total capacitance of circuit is 15 pF

Solution:

The total capacitance when two capacitors are connected in series is:

C_(total) = (C_1 * C_2)/(C_1 + C_2)

From given,

A circuit contains a 20 pF capacitor and a 60 pF capacitor connected in series

C_1 = 20\ pF\\\\C_2 = 60\ pF

Substituting the values we get,

C_(total ) = ( 20 * 60)/(20 + 60)\\\\C_(total ) = ( 1200)/(80)\\\\C_(total ) = 15

Thus the total capacitance of circuit is 15 pF
