Why do you think the Great Depression "bewildered" Americans?​

Answer:

The great depression confused the Americans because the economy was fruitful before the great depression. For the whites at least. It came all of a sudden and people had never witnessed such famine and poverty before.

Basically they were shocked to have had to experience new found poverty.
