A tumor originally weighed 34 g. Every day, chemotherapy treatment reduces the size of the tumor by 2.49 g. Express the size of the tumor as a linear function of the number of days spent in chemotherapy then determine how much the tumor weighs after 5 days of treatment

Initial mass: 34g

Daily reduction: 2.49g

The tumor mass, as function of days, is:

m(t)=34-2.49t, where t is time in days.

In the first day, t=0, mass is m(0)=34g. Next day, t=1, mass is m(1)=34-2.49.

After 5 days: m(5)=34-2.49×5=21.55g.

Answers: m(t)=34-2.49t

After 5 days: m(5)=21.55g
