To solve percentage problems we do
(part)/(total) =
(percentage)/(100) since the 70 is 35% that is the part and the percentage is 35 since the total is unknown it is the x


(70)/(x) = (35)/(100) now we cross multiply

70 * 100 = 35 * x

7000 = 35x now we divide both sides by 35 so that the x is alone

35x ÷ 35 = x

7000 ÷ 35 = 200

x = 200 the total number of students COMING is 200 so now we subtract 35 to find out how many MORE are coming

200 - 35 = 165
