Benefits of students with disabilities having access to the general education curriculum includes, receiving more instructional time, having better post-secondary outcomes, improving their social skills, and increasing their confidence. The intent of this legislation is also to make sure that these students have the outcome and results that meet the state and district standards as it applies to all children.

1. Analyze the General

Education Curriculum - this means scrutinize all the aspects of the curriculum as it is , apsects which will make it accessible to student with disabilities.

This can be done by asking certain question like does it clearly defined what students need to have accomplished by the end of the course?

Are resources available to support diversified instructions?

What universal design elements are there?

Step 2. Enhance the General

Education Curriculum- this means educators will need to know what features and material they may need to include in order to enhance some features of the curriculum.
