Answer:PART A

The Canadian Shield is an Igneous rock and ancient metamorphic rock,it is rigid and hilly and curves like a shield while the Appalachian Uplands is a sedimentary rock which looks more or less like a level land surface caused by erosion,it is a peneplain and it contains many U-shaped valleys and it's riding coast line and it has an irregular base.

PART B

(A) Gradation

(B) Orogenic deformation

Explanation: The Canadian shield is an Igneous rock and ancient metamorphic rock, that is hilly and rigid which has a curve like a shield, it cover the most parts of the North American continent.

The Appalachian uplands is a sedimentary rock which has been eroded over many centuries ago causing it to look more or less like a level land, it is a peneplain,it contains U-shaped valleys and its base is irregular.
