Given data:

$1 (4)/(9) \text { and } 2 (1)/(3)

Plot the points
1 (4)/(9) \text { and } 2 (1)/(3) on the number line.

Let us plot the first point
1(4)/(9).

1 unit is completed. So count after 1 (indicated) in the number line.

point after 1 is
1(1)/(9)

point after
1(1)/(9) is
1(2)/(9)

point after
1(2)/(9) is
1(3)/(9)

point after
1(3)/(9) is
1(4)/(9).

So, move 4 points after 1 in the number line is
1(4)/(9).

Now plot the point
2(1)/(3).

To make the denominator 9, multiply and divide numerator and denominator by 3.

$2 (1)/(3)=2 (3)/(9)

2 unit is completed. So count after 2 (indicated) in the number line.

point after 2 is
2(1)/(9)

point after
2(1)/(9) is
2(2)/(9)

point after
2(2)/(9) is
2(3)/(9)=2(1)/(3)

So, move 3 points after 2 in the number line is
2(1)/(9).

The number line is attached below.
