Ok so let’s write out the problem
4x+6=-x+1
We first want to get the x’s on one side and the numbers on the other
4x+6=-x+1
+x. +x
5x+6=1
Now we want to get the 6 over
5x+6=1
-6. -6
5x=5
Divide by 5 to get the x alone
X is equal to 1
