The ring of fire is on top of a ring where two tectonic plates meet. This causes a lot of geological activity because the tectonic plates constantly move and rub against each other, this is causing disturbances and the converging of the plates have created subduction zones where the volcanoes that the ring of fire is so famous about have formed.
