The value of k is -3.6

Solution:

Given that, we have to solve

(1)/(3)k -2k + 4 = 10

We have to find solution to given equation

From given,

(1)/(3)k -2k + 4 = 10

Make the denominators same in right side of equation

(1)/(3)k - (2k * 3)/(1 * 3) + (4 * 3)/(1 * 3) = 10\\\\Simplify\\\\(1)/(3)k - (6k)/(3) + (12)/(3) = 10\\\\(k-6k + 12)/(3) = 10\\\\Isolate\ for\ k\\\\k - 6k + 12 = 10 * 3\\\\Combine\ the\ like\ terms\\\\-5k + 12 = 30\\\\-5k = 30 - 12\\\\-5k = 18\\\\Divide\ both\ sides\ by\ -5\\\\k = -3.6

Thus the value of k is -3.6
