First label the equations.

3x -2y= 10 -----(1)

2x +5y= 13 -----(2)

From (1): 3x= 2y +10

x= 2/3y +10/3 -----(3) (÷3 on both sides)

subst. (3) into (2):

2(2/3y +10/3) +5y= 13

4/3y +20/3 +5y= 13 (expand)

19/3y= 13 -20/3 (move all y terms to 1 side)

19/3y= 19/3 (simplify)

y= 1

subst. into (3):

x= (2/3)(1) +10/3

x= 4
