Standard form of equation:

ax + by = c

y = (1)/(3) x - 7

y - (1)/(3) x = - 7

( - x)/(3) + y = - 7

Answer:

x - 3y = 21

Explanation:

To write linear equation in standard form we write variables in one side and constant numbers on the the other side

for
y=(1)/(3)x-7

we first need to get rid of fraction and to do that we multiply both sides of the equation by 3

3 × y = (x/3 - 7) × 3

3y = x - 21

Now we subtract 3y and add 21 to both sides

21 + 3y - 3y = x - 21 - 3y + 21

x - 3y = 21

Some rules : x cannot be negative, and there shouldn't be fraction.
