5. The study by Fuchs and Westervelt found that only around 0.01% of studies are associated with research misconduct. What are some of the reasons (list at least two) why this number doesn’t reflect the actual extent of misconduct in scientific studies?

  • Because if the researchers believe that they have a problem with the research results it leads them to believe that there is an error in all the process.
  • If what the researchers found was an error, this error does not enter the research it is discarded from the study.
