Answer:

  • "Lungs of our Planet" - The rain forest gives us oxygen, by taking up carbon dioxide we give off and releasing oxygen. The amazon rain forest produces 20% of the world's oxygen.
  • ".....estimated 10 million species of plants, animals and insects live in the tropical rain forests."- The rain forest is home to a variety of species. Protecting the rain forest means we are protecting these species.
  • "At least 80 percent of the developed world's diet..."- People from the developed countries get 80% of their food from the tropical rain forest. If there is some sort of degradation of the rain forest, there will be an immense decline in their food source.
