The correct answer is People should be able to choose their own governments.

President Woodrow Wilson, in his speech at the joint session of the United States Congress, formulated, under fourteen separate points, proposals of an essential nature for a possible post-World War I settlement.

The Fourteen Points were nothing more than a set of diplomatic principles developed by President Woodrow Wilson's administration during the First World War.

These were designed as a declaration of American war objectives, as well as to provide a path to peace. Highly progressive, the Fourteen Points were generally well received when announced in January 1918, but there were some doubts about the real feasibility of implementation in a pragmatic sense.
