n-4 < -3(2+n)

Remove parentheses:

n-4 < -6 - 3n

Add 3n to each side:

4n-4 < -6

Add 4 to each side:

4n < -2

Divide each side by 4 :

n < - 1/2 .

Any number less than -1/2 makes the original equation a true statement.
