The balanced scale represents the equation: 2x + 1 = x + 5

If one x block is subtracted from the right side and one numbered block is subtracted from the left side. What process will balance
the scale?

x = 4 so it's 2(4) + 1 = 4 + 5 (9 = 9)
so if you take away the x block on the right and one numbered block on the left it could be

x + 1 = 5 which is already equal
