d = \sqrt{(x_(2)-x_(1))^(2)+(y_(2)-y_(1))^(2)}


x_(1)=2


x_(2)=1


y_(1)=4


y_(2)=1

substituting into the formula , we have :


d = \sqrt{(1-2)^(2)+(1-4)^(2)}


d = \sqrt{(-1)^(2)+(-3)^(2)}


d = √(1+9)


d =√(10)
