You have to find a number to multiply by. For 1/3 it is 4.

Now for 1/4. For that it is 3.

Now you may add both of the fractions. *DENOMINATORS YOU ADD ACROSS!!! << REMEMBER

7/12 is the answer, or as a decimal (rounded) is 1.7
