Marie and her brother are driving from city A to city B. The two cities are 235 miles apart. Marie drives at 47 miles per hour. How long does it take them to make the​ trip? Use the equation d=rt, where d is​ distance, r is​ rate, and t is time.

Answer:

5 hours

Explanation:

Time = distance ÷ speed

Rate = distance ÷ time

Distance = speed x time

therefore

Time: 235m ÷ 47m/h = 5 hours

Rate: 235m ÷ 5 hours = 47m/h

Distance: 47m/h x 5 hours = 235m

speed = rate
