Explanation:

Number of employees was retrenched : 0.05*24000 = 1200

=> Number of employees were still working there: 24000-1200 = 22800

Number of employees were affected by having a pay cut = 22800*0.6025 =13737

=> Number of employees that were unaffected = 22800 - 13737 = 9063
