Suppose that the equivalent temperature in Fahrenheit is exactly only 4 degrees more than the temperature in Celsius. Find

the temperature in Celsius.

Answer:

C = -35°

Explanation:

Given °F is 4° more than the °C.

F = 4 + C

F - 4 = C

The conversion equation for celcius to fahrenheit is

F = (9/5)C + 32

Use this to substitute in your equation

F - 4 = C

((9/5)C + 32) - 4 = C

(9/5)C + 28 = C

28 = C - (9/5)C

28 = -(4/5)C

-35 = C

C = -35°
