or

rearrange the top equation to be y = -5 + 5x

plug this in for y in the second equation.

-4x + 2 (-5 + 5x) = 2

solve for x

-10 + 6x = 2

6x = 12

x = 2

plug this into one of the equations to get y

-5*2 + y = -5

-10 + y = -5

y = -5 + 10

y = 5
