Determine the root of the equation by factoring 3x^2-x-4=0.

I have both of the roots solved, but when I verify it does not come out to a zero. Why is this?

Answer:

The roots you found should be
(3x-4)(x+1)=0, which shows that
x = (4)/(3) \\ x=-1

Explanation:

You likely messed up when trying to one or both of the roots back into the equation.

Determine the root of the equation by factoring 3x^2-x-4=0. I have both of the roots-example-1
