Each of my rose bushes cost 24 gold coins plus a delivery fee of 16 gold coins . If I have, at most,1,000 gold coins to spend how many rose bushes can I buy ?

Answer: you can buy at most, 41 rose bushes.

Let x represent the number of rose bushes that you can buy.

Each of my rose bushes cost 24 gold coins plus a delivery fee of 16 gold coins. This means that if you buy x rose bushes, the amount that you would pay(in gold coins) plus delivery is

24x + 16

If you have, at most,1,000 gold coins to spend, the inequality that represents this situation would be expressed as

24x + 16 ≤ 1000

24x ≤ 1000 - 16

24x ≤ 984

x ≤ 984/24

x ≤ 41
