The approximate equation in slope intercept form is y = 2x + 2.

Solution:

Take any two point on the given graph.

Let us take (0, 2) and (0.5, 3).

x_1=0, y_1=2, x_2=0.5, y_2=3

Equation of the line in slope-intercept form:

y = mx + b

where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept of the line.

Slope of the line:

$m=(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))

$m=(3-2)/(0.5-0)

$m=(1)/(0.5)

m = 2

y-intercept of the line is the value of y when x = 0.

Here the value of y is 2 when x = 0. That is (0, 2) is the point of y-intercept.

Therefore b = 2.

y = mx + b

y = 2x + 2

Hence the approximate equation in slope intercept form is y = 2x + 2.
