Answer:

4.5ft of snow will melt to 18 inches of water.

Explanation:

This question can be solved by a rule of three.

Under typical conditions, 0.5 feet of snow will melt to 2 inches of water. To how many inches of water will 4.5 ft of snow melt

So 0.5ft of snow is 2 inches of water. 4.5 ft of snow is x inches of water

0.5 ft of snow - 2 inches of water

4.5ft of snow - x inches of wather

0.5x = 2*4.5

0.5x = 9

x = (9)/(0.5)

x = 18

4.5ft of snow will melt to 18 inches of water.
