so first you figure out what the 20 and x are compared to the 64. the x is the adjacent angle and the 20 is the hypotenuse. so in this equation A and H are used making it a cosine equation. the equation would be set up cos64= x/20. then you would multiply the 20 and cos by 20 canceling out the 20 on the right side of the equation. then the equation would be 20cos64=x then in the scientific calculator you would type 20cos64 and that would give you 7.83 but when simplified it becomes x= 7.8
