Solution: x=35 degrees

My process: There is 180 degrees in a straight line and there are already two 40 degrees taking it so 180-80=100 then you have to find the correct number that would make the equation 2x+30=100. 2x35+30=100, and that ends you with the needed 180 degrees

Answer:

x=35

Explanation:

All the angles are supplementary, meaning they add up to 180 degrees (A straight line)

therefore:

40+(2x+30)+40=180

Simplify

2x+30=100

2x=70

x=35
