120 sq.feet of the garden will be turned into path.

Explanation:

  • Area of a square garden = 1600 sq.feet.
  • length of the side = a

Area of square = a²

⇒ 1600 = a²

⇒ a = √1600

a = 40

  • The length of the path = 40 feet
  • The width of the path = 3 feet

The area of the path = length
*width

⇒ 40
*3 = 120 sq.feet
