Jeremy has nine more dimes than he has quarters. If q is used to represent the number of quarters that he has, translate "the total value of the dimes in cents" into an algebraic expression in terms of q. Don't forget that a dime is worth 10 cents! Simplify your answer.

Answer:

35q + 90

Explanation:

quarter = 25 cents

dimes = 10 cents

If he has q quarters, then he has q+9 dimes

Amount = 25(q) + 10(q+9)

= 25q + 10q + 90

= 35q + 90

= 5(7q + 18)
